It's too easy! How to make a bag that doesn't sew

Q&Q SmileSolar iswatchA portion of the proceeds from the company is donating to "TABLE FOR TWO," an activity that delivers school lunches to children in Africa and Asia. I've been working hard on things that are steady. I believe that this will lead to the future of the planet, and I would like to continue to participate in various initiatives. We have started a new project called "Chikyuu and My Smile Diary," which will challenge ourselves to "eco-friendly things" that will make the world and people smile. We will be sharing eco-friendly initiatives that can be started now!

In the first session, we will upgrade clothes that are no longer worn to new items. This time I'll make my own bag. After researching, it appears that there is a way to make a bag that doesn't sew at all. I would like to try this method that even I, who is not good at needlework, can do!

Start making your own bag!

[Step 1] Prepare T-shirts you no longer wear

The "Sukurikukure T-shirt" was bought at a second-hand clothing store in Koenji five years ago and has been used as pajamas for the past few years. I'm sure you have clothes like that in your home too. Now, check out the inside of your dresser now!

[Step 2] Cut the sleeves and neck!

Once you have the T-shirt ready, it's time to get the scissors on it. Cut it with scissors along the cuffs and seams at the collar of the T-shirt.

Here's what it looks like after the cut. How will this transform into a bag? For now, I'm only worried.

[Step 3] Cut the hem that is the bottom of the bag as well as the hem.

Next, cut the hem along the seam.

Next, cut the hem vertically into strips about 1cm wide from the edge. Adjust the vertical length to cut to the desired bag size.

[Step 4] Tie tight and last sprint

Once you've cut it all the way to the edges, turn the T-shirt over and tie the fabrics facing each other. This knot will be the bottom of the bag, so tie it tightly with a double knot.

Here's the picture after it's all tied. It still has a bit of a sense of clothing and doesn't look like a bag. Is it okay?

If you turn it over at the end...

yeah? ?
Have you forgotten to tie it? The string just came out.
It might have been better if they tied it more.

Whatever it is! I was able to complete my own bag with just a T-shirt and scissors! Looking at it like this, it's a perfect bag. I'm a little surprised that it's so easy to do.

The bottom of the bag is surprisingly strong! I chose a thick T-shirt so I feel safe too. If you're looking to pack a lot of bags, a thick T-shirt and double knot are a must.

Now, by 2030, we will reduce plastic waste emissions by 25%! Since this goal was set, plastic bags have been charged, and more people have been carrying their own bags around. Think a little about what you can do and take action. I hope that making my own bag this time will lead to even a little bit of future.

bonus

Having realized the joy of making my own bag and making it, I also put up some old-fashioned shorts.watchI also made a pouch.

Drawstring bag-likewatchPouch! I think it was pretty well done. I praised the reuse of waist straps as being good.

The pouch was stitched with a needle. It's been a while since I've been sewing, so the seams are rattling (lol).

If you feel like you want to change your mood a little, then you can easily change your mood.watchI thought maybe it would be good to carry it around with me by sneaking it in my pouch.

I hope you all give it a try too.

"Chikyuu and My Smile Diary Vol. 1" Successfully upcycled clothes that have no longer been worn into new items!

Next time, we will be taking on a dish made with scrap vegetables. Stay tuned!
